The British Embassy in Athens and the Benaki Museum are co-organising the "Grand Tour" exhibition, in which the UK Government Art Collection presents 17 works of art from the British Embassy Residence.

The exhibition will continue at the Benaki Museum of Hellenic Culture and the Gika Gallery until 1 June 2025.

Some the Grand Tour exhibition’s most important works include: 

  • The portrait of Lord Byron by Thomas Philips
  • Artwork of Joseph and Anton Schranz depicting the Greek islands in the 19th century
  • Oil and watercolour paintings by Nikos Hatzikyriakos-Gikas and John Craxton.

Ticket Details

Entrance to the exhibition is included in the museum's general admission ticket which costs 12€ (regular) or 9€ (reduced).
