Stamatis Spanoudakis "For Smyrna"

On Monday October 3rd, 2022, at 9:00pm, at the Odeon of Herod Atticus, Stamatis Spanoudakis is organizing a major concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the end of the Asia Minor Disaster, entitled: For Smyrna.

The distinguished composer, accompanied by collaborators of long standing, will showcase excerpts from his rich musical oeuvre.

“On Monday, October 3rd, I will present new and older songs, on the day of the patron saint of Athens, Saint Dionysios of the Areopagus.

The theme and title of the concert is For Smyrna. I promise to be present, in expectation of the magic that takes place when music and listener, with a tear, become one”, Stamatis Spanoudakis announced.

Taking to the stage will be the Tamalo string orchestra; brass instruments and the large mixed choir “Melodoi”, conducted by maestro Giorgos Ziakas.

The concert is organized in conjunction with the Panhellenic Women’s Organisation “Panathinaiki”, as part of the events celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Part of the revenues shall be donated to the General Charity Fund of the Holy Archbishopric of Athens and specifically the Parish Soup Kitchens, which operate in parishes of the Holy Archbishopric providing food to our fellow men and women in need.
