Coming from Blackpool, England, Jethro Tull embarked on their musical journey in the late 1960s. Today, having sold 60 million records worldwide, more than 21 albums including 11 certified gold and 5 platinum and more than 3,000 live performances in 40 countries, Jethro Tull has been named one of the most important and eccentric progressive rock bands of the 20th century.

At the center of every stage is the iconic persona of Ian Anderson, who has the role of the group’s leader. With an artistic ingenuity that was remarkable already from their early years, he dares to put the flute as a key instrument in the Jethro Tull- machine, making it the band’s trademark.

Among their first records one finds their blues debut, “This Was” (1968), which is followed by “Stand Up” (1969) and “Benefit” (1970), the album which is set to prepare us for their magnum opus, “Aqualung” (1971). There are no appropriate words to speak of this masterpiece, which still stands boldly as one of the most important rock releases of all time.

The progressive rock genre, proud of its worthy children, finds in “Locomotive Breath” and “Hymn 43” the hymns that will be sung by thousands of fans worldwide. Throughout this musical journey of 5 decades, the sound of Jethro Tull passed by blues and jazz, progressive and classic rock, always keeping their unique folk elements.
