The magical voice of French pop-soul singer Imany, who gave us hits like Don't Be So Shy and You Will Never Know, is coming to the Christmas Theater in Athens on March 23 to perform Voodoo Cello, from her latest album of the same title.
The only stars of the performance are her magical, earthy voice and 8 cellists in a unique concerto of voice and strings. As she says, the cello is not only close to the human voice but also has feminine curves.
Imany is known for performing an array of great pop music songs from a vast selection of artists, ranging from Nina Simone, Radiohead, Cat Stevens, Donna Summer, Madonna, Ed Sheeran and Bob Marley, removing boundaries and perceptions.
Alongside her powerful music, Imany finds time for a series of acts of responsibility and activism. She is an ambassador for the EndoMind Association fighting endometriosis, is an advocate for people’s equal rights, an ambassador for her Comoran heritage, and an active member of events against climate change.
