This year Arc for dance Festival, the International Contemporary Dance Festival, celebrates fifteen years of activity, confirming its faith in the open dynamics of dance, as these are expressed through its constant interaction with other arts and forms of expression.
This edition of the festival will commence with ARC¬¬_for ALL, an inclusive dance and choreography composition workshop in collaboration with Liminal (6-12 September). Its programme includes virtual reality installations at the National Museum of Contemporary Art (ARC_hitects, 18 September) and creations by new choreographers at the Roes Theatre (Prime Movers, 24-25 September).
The festival will reach its climax with the central performances, where 7 original dance works (3 presented as world premieres, 4 in their first showing in Athens), will be presented at the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus (Main festival, 29 September – 2 October), which will be broadcast live online (ARC_Flow). This year’s festival programme will also include masterclasses and seminars for professional dancers (ARC_hothouse, 27 September – 1 October) at the Dance Cultural Centre (DAN.C.CE).
