Kavala Tango Days 2022

For 4 days and nights the city will dance to the rhythms of Argentine Tango! The recently renovated building of Great Club (Megali Leshi) will host a serie of events featuring Tango music and dance.

Concerts, dance nights (milongas), tango lessons for beginners and advanced, outdoor events in the centre of the city are some of the activities in which we will have the opportunity to participate during the four days.

Among the invited dancers who will teach or present shows, the world-famous maestros Sebastian Jimenez (Argentina)  with Joana Gomez (Portugal), Gabriel Marino (Argentina) with Vasia Thanopoulou (Greece) who excel in recent years in Athens and the beloved Stelios Stampoulidis with Despina Amarantidou from Thessaloniki.

Invited tango orchestra, the excellent TANGartO Quintet will perform the award-winning original compositions of the “Tango moments: From yesterday to today” , as well as classic masterpieces of the tango repertoire. Every night after 22.00, the baton will be taken by the Tango DJs Gergana MamaLoca Boeva (Bulgaria), Κostas Doukas and Μarina Siama who will arouse the dancers of all ages and levels with their choices!
