The musical performance "Seeds at risk or the sound of white gram, malting barley and wheat" by Anemoessa, Oros Ensemble, Rafi Music Theatre Group, is part of the Ministry of Culture’s “All of Greece, One Culture 2023" programme, which this year is dedicated to the environment.
The musical ensemble Oros Ensemble collaborates with the Environmental Protection and Architectural Heritage Group of Lemnos Island "Anemoessa", in the framework of a special action. Art, environmental protection, primary production as a demand, as a creative core, compose a site-specific lyrical performance. The focus is on Lemnos, the "Volcanic Island", the "wheat field of the Aegean", the flattest island of our country with its endless wheat fields, which gave birth to unique native varieties.
For the project " Seeds at risk or the sound of white gram, malting barley and wheat ", the Oros Ensemble and the "Anemoessa" group collaborate with baritone Tasis Christogiannopoulos and the local Kournos Music Festival, which, with music as its central theme, aims to organize site-specific productions, both in the natural environment of the island and in selected buildings of historical or architectural importance. The artistic action will be supported by Danae Sfakianou, an agronomist who aims to support traditional primary sector practices for the preservation of biodiversity and the unique landscape of Lemnos.
