The dance performance "A dot of eutopia" by Zoe Efstathiou, is part of the Ministry of Culture’s “All of Greece, One Culture 2023" programme, which this year is dedicated to the environment.
The project "A dot of eutopia" is based on the relationship between the perceived spatial and temporal distance of the climate crisis and the formation of positive emotions and internal motivation for individual and collective commitment to slowing it down. Choreographer Zoe Efstathiou explores the concept of distance, forming relationships of interdependence and autonomy, as well as collective effort. The dancers focus on positive emotions and link them to the individual and societal commitment to climate change. Specifically, they follow movement pathways and persistent interactions, motivated by inner motivations, which can guide them in an investigation of collective action. As the title testifies, the performance seeks and shapes, through the art of dance, multimedia and contemporary electronic music, a heuristic, an existent place and a way of slowing down the climate crisis through positive emotions.
