Our stay at Melathron Villa on Syros was a tranquil and delightful experience. Nestled in a prime location with direct access to the waterfront, the beautiful villa offers an unrivaled sense of calm and seclusion, ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat by the sea. The staff were exceptional, extending warmth and genuine hospitality from the moment we arrived. Their attentiveness and willingness to accommodate every request made us feel truly at home. The villa itself is beautifully maintained, combining classic elegance with modern comfort. While the breakfast was quite simple, it was thoughtfully prepared and served with care, perfectly complementing the serenity of the setting. For those who value both beauty and privacy in a seaside location, Melathron Villa is a wonderful choice on the island of Syros. We left refreshed and looking forward to our return.

Very polite stuff and great location but the room without sea view was not what we expected (small, no place to dry out, beach towels, no sufficient light or sun) . The breakfast was served in a roof garden with a nice view but no variety and just the basic menu with occasional menu shortages. In general it did not deserve the cost for a 4 star hotel!

We found the location of the hotel superb. Right in front of the sea, well situated in Ermoupoli. We however found the breakfast offered very disappointing. The upper terrace was lovely but both the service and food offered was subpar. When food is so superb on this island there is no excuse for the terrible, stingy set breakfast they provided. We had to ask for yoghurt and fruit(which they served not cut up and not at all ripe), no cappuccino was offered and when they call yourself a 4 star hotel, this was certainly not acceptable. Too bad, the breakfast was bad enough to not make me stay want to there again. Shame - otherwise we would have -

If I were you I’d spend my money elsewhere…. Even though the location is excellent, the hotel (not the rooms though) luxurious and the staff friendly and helpful, the hotel has a HUGE minus…. Apparently the hotel policy changed this year (most likely in July) and there’s no breakfast buffet! Across the internet and booking.com you read comments about the incredible buffet of the hotel. Well, NOT ANYMORE. I was completely disappointed and annoyed after paying 180€ per night for 5 days in August in a 4 star hotel! And I’d love to see at least some great food being served, but no… first of all, there’s no coffee. You get watery filtered coffee. Even though there’s a huge espresso machine behind the bar, they don’t operate it anymore. Second of all, the breakfast is sad to say the least. I give it a 0 out of 5. They serve two very small and sad slices of cheese and ham, 2 small (obviously deep frozen) breads, two hard boiled eggs, a cake that tastes like the chemicals it obviously contains and some store bought jams. First of all, there’s no variety, so after one day you get bored of the food. Secondly, it is all store bought even though there’s a big kitchen. And thirdly and most importantly, I feel extremely tricked. If you change the hotel’s policy, change the page on Booking.com. You can’t keep old comments saying how great the breakfast buffet is while there is none! It is completely misleading. Such an old and historic hotel, what a shame… the hotel management should be ashamed.
