In addition, the audience will have the chance to watch 93 films online, through the digital platform of the Festival, online.filmfestival.gr.

Thessaloniki International Film Festival welcomes audiences on Thursday, November 3 with a sweet coming-of-age film that pays homage to the magical aura and redemptive power of cinema. The Fabelmans, the most personal and confessional film in Steven Spielberg's entire career, which recently won the Audience Award at the Toronto Film Festival and is setting its sights on the Oscars, is the opening film of the 63rd ΤIFF. It is written by Steven Spielberg and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner and stars Gabriel LaBell. The film is produced by Academy Award nominee Kristie MaCosko Krieger, along with Spielberg and Kushner. Five-time Oscar winner John Williams has written the music.

Top James Bond casting director Debbie McWilliams, along with Jemima McWilliams representing the "new generation," the man who inspired the phenomenal Call My Agent series we enjoyed on Netflix, famed agent Laurent Gregoire, Greek actress Themis Bazaka and successful casting directors Sophia Demopoulou and Makis Gazis, come to the 63rd Thessaloniki International Film Festival as part of a major tribute to acting entitled "Time to Act". In a three-day event full of masterclasses, workshops and discussions, the audience will be informed about everything about actors and their work. At the same time, they will meet the new talents of tomorrow from Greece in the “Meet the Future” section. The masterclasses will take place from Wednesday 9 November to Friday 11 November, in the Pavlos Zannas Hall of Olympion. They are open to the public and admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
