Description

We depart from Platis Gialos and cruise through the strait between Kimolos and Milos. In about 25 minutes we pass the northwest cape of the beautiful island of Poliegos and turn southwest towards Pollonia bay, which we reach after roughly 10 minutes. From there we continue along the coast to Papafragas, an impressive natural “pool” – a huge cave carved into the cliff with a tiny strip of sand forming the beach – where we can snorkel and enjoy this unique geological formation.

We then head southwest to Alogomandra beach for a refreshing swim in its crystal-clear waters. A little further along we arrive at Navagio (Shipwreck), where we can swim in deep waters above an old wreck lying about 8–10 meters below the surface. Just 100 meters from the wreck is our next main stop: Sarakiniko, one of the most photographed spots in Milos and the Cyclades. Here we spend about an hour swimming in deep blue water, jumping from the tall greyish–white cliffs that resemble a moonscape, and exploring the famous narrow fiords.

After Sarakiniko, we turn north and cross to the south side of Kimolos, visiting the secluded beaches of Makropounta, Athinia and Mavrospilia, where we can swim and enjoy the island’s peaceful, untouched character. We then head southeast towards Kalamitsi and continue east to the charming little port of Pollonia, where the small ferry connects Milos and Kimolos every hour. From there we keep heading east, round the southeast cape of Kimolos, pass outside Psathi, the island’s main port, and finally turn northeast back towards Sifnos to return to Platis Gialos, closing a full day of unforgettable sights and swims.

What should I bring with?

Sun protection is a must. Kindly use environmentally friendly sunscreen for the sea environment.
Sunglasses are recommended as the sun is strong.
Swimsuits are also a must, the more the better.
Don’t forget to bring towels.
It’s recommended to bring either a phone or a camera, the latter being the preferred option.

Please Note

Babies must be held on the lap of an adult.
The activity is not appropriate for pregnant women, individuals with fear of speed or water, or children under one year of age.
It is mandatory to remove shoes before getting on the boat.
Adequate shade will be available during stops, but sun exposure is still possible, so it is advisable to bring and use sun protection.
A towel should always be used when lounging on the deck or cushions of the boat.
