As part of All of Greece One Culture 2025, the Nekromanteion of Acheron in Preveza will host the performance Back to the Future, on August 8 & 9.
Two Electras and two Oresteses – one pair from ancient myth, the other from the Greek countryside of 2025 – find their lives intertwined in a shared narrative of trauma, vengeance and matricide. Though separated by millennia, their paths converge in unexpected ways, caught in a spiral of inherited pain and moral uncertainty.
The setting is no coincidence: the Gates of Hades, where the world of the living dissolves into the realm of the dead. In this liminal space, where life and death blur and memory becomes prophecy, the characters confront the darkest corners of their humanity.
What drives someone to seek salvation through death? And if the act is carried out, does redemption follow – or does the burden simply shift? Back to the Future draws its power from the ancient landscape of the Nekromanteion, inviting audiences to reflect on the timelessness of human conflict and the unresolved questions we carry between generations.
