Kerkini is one of the oldest migratory stations for birds in the area. This is the ideal destination for nature lovers – enjoy this full day excursion to get close to rare species of birds and animals!

This is a day trip to Lake Kerkini, one of the 10 most valuable wetland habitats in Greece with about 300 species of birds and rare animals. Among the many species, admire the beautiful flamingos and the magnificent buffalos that walk near you. All these are combined with the wonderful view of Mount Beles and the majestic valley of Serres.

Itinerary

  1. 09:00: Depart from Thessaloniki to Kerkini Lake.
  2. 10:00: Reach the Dam of Kerkini Lake (Lithotopos area). Stop for coffee.
  3. 10:30: Visit a small private zoo to see deers, wild goats, ostriches, peacocks, etc
  4. 11:30: Enjoy bird watching through the lake. Private cruise with a boat. Every season of the year hosts different species of birds so the boat ride hides a different surprise each time. The beautiful flamingos though, live there all year round.
  5. 12:30: Horse riding (Optionally). The area for horse riding is situated next to the dam and you can enjoy a horse ride as long as the weather permits it.
  6. 13:30: Visit a farm, just some kilometers away, where the impressive water buffalos will walk near to you.
  7. 14:30: Lunch Break. Enjoy your lunch in traditional Greek taverns in villages around the lake.
  8. 16:00: Depart to Thessaloniki
  9. 17:00: Arrival at Thessaloniki at the pick-up point.

  • Alternatively, you may postpone/re-book for a future date at no cost. The rebooking must take place at the same time that you request to cancel the 1st booking.
  • If you cancel 29 to 15 days before the service start date:
  • We refund 50% of the reservation deposit.
  • 50% of the reservation deposit is charged as cancellation fee.
  • Alternatively, you may postpone/re-book for a future date with a fee of 25% of the reservation deposit. The rebooking must take place at the same time that you request to cancel the 1st booking, and you may only re-book once with no cost.
  • If you cancel 14 – 10 days before the service start date:
  • We refund 30% of the reservation deposit.
  • 70% of the cost is charged as a cancellation fee.
  • If you cancel 10 – 8 days before the service start date:
  • We refund 20% of the reservation deposit.
  • 80% of the cost is charged as a cancellation fee.
  • If you cancel 7 days and less, before the service start date:
  • No refunds are to be made.
  • The 100% of the money paid are charged.
  • We strongly recommend that you obtain trip cancellation insurance from an insurance company.
