Lefkada: Fields of Flavor - Hiking Through Eglouvi's Lentil Fields

Our Hike adventure starts from the traditional village of Eglouvi, known for its stone houses and famous lentil fields. We follow the trail through ancient rocky paths and ‘’moon-like’’ sandy cliffs.

The trail goes through stunning olive groves, leading to the historic Profitis Ilias Church. Perched high above, this mountaintop church offers views so breathtaking, it feels like a place where the heavens meet the earth.

The trail will lead us to the old American base, and after a few minutes, it will reach the small chapel of Saint Donatos, at an altitude of 737 meters. The view is impressive, with the surrounding stone houses ‘’voltoi’’ and old circular pathways ‘’alonia’’, all bearing witness to the area's agricultural history—along with the lentil fields and old vineyards. Descend through vineyards, eventually arriving in the stone-paved alleys of the village ,visiting the old church.
