The tour starts in Athens and takes you through the picturesque and beautiful landscape of the Peloponnese peninsula.Your first stop is the Corinth Canal, which separates the Greek mainland from the Peloponnese. The canal spares about 400 km of sea passage around the Peloponnese, but is only passable for smaller ships.
The journey continues towards the ancient site of Olympia, the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games. There, visit the archaeological site and the Archaeological Museum of Olympia, with a large amount of artifacts and statues and the Museum of the Olympic Games, as well. The games used to take place every 4 years from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. You will also visit the Temple of Zeus, Pelopion, the stadium, the Temple of Hera, the Philippeion, the Phidias Workshop and many other historical sites. In these spots, you can feel the aura of the Olympic Games, fight on the Pallestra or walk around the stadium. It is fascinating to see where the fire is kindled on the occasion of the Olympic Games and then carried to the whole world.
