From the very first email, Elounda Palm Hotel & Suites set a tone of genuine hospitality that carried through the entire stay. After booking online, I reached out to learn more about the hotel’s facilities, dining options, and local activities — and the response I received could not have been better. Nikoleta, who handled my enquiry, was attentive, professional, and wonderfully kind. She answered every question with care, made excellent recommendations, and even arranged several activities for us in advance. From that moment, I knew we had chosen the right place.
On arrival, check-in was smooth and efficient, and within minutes we were escorted to our suite. We had booked the Deluxe Infinity Suite with Private Pool, on a half-board basis — and the moment the door opened, my breath was snatched clean away from me. The suite was spacious and elegantly designed, featuring a comfortable double bed, a sofa bed, and a generous bathroom stocked with lovely local toiletry products. While the wardrobe space could have been a touch larger, it hardly mattered — because the real showstopper awaited just beyond the terrace doors.
Our private infinity pool shimmered under the Cretan sun, framed by an inviting terrace and an outdoor shower. From there, the view stretched out toward the sea — and, if you looked closely, you could even spot the island of Spinalonga in the distance. Each morning, we watched the sunrise in quiet awe; the light in Crete truly is something magical, softer and more radiant than anywhere else.
The wider resort is equally charming — lush gardens meticulously maintained each day, a serene communal pool area, and two excellent on-site restaurants. Both breakfast and dinner were served buffet-style, offering an impressive selection of fresh, locally inspired dishes that changed daily. There were dependable favourites like crisp salads and creamy ice cream, but also a delightful variety of new flavours to explore each evening.
Location-wise, Elounda town is just a pleasant 20-minute walk away — a picturesque seaside village dotted with shops, cafés, and small tavernas that perfectly capture the laid-back charm of Crete.
Yet, what truly makes this hotel shine above all else is the people. Every staff member, from reception to housekeeping and restaurant service, greeted us with genuine warmth and effortless smiles. Their kindness and professionalism elevated every part of our stay.
Elounda Palm Hotel & Suites isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place to feel welcome. Thoughtful service, breathtaking views, and an atmosphere of quiet luxury make it a destination worth returning to again and again.
My Verdict: A serene Cretan haven with heartfelt service and unforgettable sunrises – 9/10 for hospitality and atmosphere.
(The final point I'll keep back for a few minor reasons - like a lack of fresh drinking water from room service daily, and lack of a kettle in the room - even though if you ask for one you are offered the choice of collecting it from the reception yourself. Like I said, very minor points that could go a long way to making a perfect stay 😊)

The hotel is beautifully designed, tastefully decorated, and wonderfully peaceful. There’s a real sense of space throughout the grounds, enhanced by the many palm trees that give the place its character and warmth.
Meals are of good quality for buffet dining : plenty of choice, fresh ingredients, and well above average for this category, even if it doesn’t quite match the charm of a small family taverna.
Our suite with private pool was spacious, comfortable, and offered a stunning sea view. Two small drawbacks: the seawater pool was rather cold (a shame in a country where eco-friendly heating would be easy to achieve), and the terraces are shaded most of the day — welcome in mid-summer, but a little disappointing in October.
A small improvement would be to allow guests to keep unfinished bottles of wine for the following evening.
Overall, a stylish, serene and beautifully maintained hotel — perfect for those who appreciate quiet elegance and a touch of authenticity.

The food was excellent and all the staff were very attentive and ensured that service was prompt, efficient and professional. Our stay at Elounda Palm Hotel & Suites was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth, genuine smiles, and that signature Cretan hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home — but in pure luxury.
We stayed in a two-bedroom family suite with a private pool, and honestly, it was beyond perfect. The space was elegant, spotless, and beautifully designed with modern touches and a soothing, natural palette. Every detail felt carefully thought out — from the comfortable beds to the soft lighting and the little amenities that made our stay so relaxing.
The private pool was an absolute highlight. Waking up every morning to that calm turquoise water and a breathtaking sea view was pure bliss. We enjoyed quiet mornings with coffee on the terrace and unforgettable sunsets that painted the sky over the bay — it truly felt like a private paradise.
The hotel itself is stunning: beautifully maintained gardens full of palms and flowers, elegant architecture, and a tranquil atmosphere everywhere you go. The main pool and lounge areas are chic yet relaxed, perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking to unwind in style.

Pool was a great size, watch out for the steps in the pool as they come out of nowhere if you’re not expecting any. Salt water pool too
