Traviata by the GNO

From 18 to 30 July 2026, Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata will be presented by the Greek National Opera (GNO) in the Stavros Niarchos Hall of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre.

The production, directed by Nikos Petropoulos, returns to the GNO 25 years after its first staging at the Olympia Theatre, forming part of a tribute to the distinguished Greek director, set designer and costume designer.

In La Traviata, Verdi creates a finely drawn psychological portrait of his heroine, shaping the vocal writing in each act to reflect her emotional journey.
