AnimaSyros, Greece's largest International Animation Festival, returns to Ermoupoli, Syros from 21 to 27 September 2026 – once again turning the capital of the Cyclades into an international meeting point for animation lovers and professionals alike.
Since 2008, the festival has grown into one of the most significant of its kind in Europe, drawing thousands of visitors, acclaimed creators and industry professionals. This year's edition coincides with Ermoupoli's 200th anniversary – a milestone woven into the festival's central theme.
The programme spans seven competition sections and international tributes, alongside virtual reality (VR) experiences and educational workshops designed for all ages – from children to seniors, including people with disabilities.
The Agora professional forum also returns, bringing industry professionals together alongside a full calendar of screenings, side events and parties.
All AnimaSyros 2026 events and screenings take place across some of Syros's most iconic cultural landmarks and public spaces, giving visitors a chance to discover the art of animation set against the island's distinctive architectural and cultural backdrop.
