Dore Hotel Chania

We loved our stay here - even my two teenage boys! The staff are lovely and so genuinely welcoming and attentive. We had a family room on the 3rd floor with great views of the sea. Everywhere was clean, the food was good and plentiful. The entertainment was chaotically brilliant thanks to Jack. I am by nature a grumpy and unsociable individual but by the end of 10 days, I was relaxed and chatty..my family found it very unnerving. The question is would I go back….in a heartbeat!

Great hotel and the staff is so helpful and welcoming. We had a great time with the man who is in charge of activities like karaoke night and music quiz, and the staff in the bar had such good vibes. In the restaurant the staff recognised us and we had a good connection with great service. We were the only ones on a «boys trip» and the others were families or couples but we had a great time nevertheless! Recommended!

Honestly it was amazing everything was perfect to the food the room the staff the entertainment the location. The cocktail menu was absolutely perfect aswell, the location is lovely many beach bars, shops, water sports and arcades near by and the beach is probably a 2 minute walk away. Would absolutely recommend this hotel as it me and my boyfriend first time travelling and it couldn’t have went better.

We had the best stay and holiday at the Dore hotel. A small personable hotel. Staff are amazing, food is excellent, and location is perfect - a stroll to both the beach and Agia Marina old town. Strong recommendation for those that want a family friendly safe, clean and chilled holiday!

Positives: Nice pool Large range of food at restaurant including delicious desserts, restaurant felt clean and modern. Room was large, but only because we complained when we’d initially been given a very small room with only a travel cot, despite our booking clearly indicating the age of our daughter and a double room advertising an extra bed. Nice beach about a 7 minute walk away but you do have to cross a very busy street to get there. Negatives: Sea view room - paid extra for this but view from our room could at best be described as a "side-sea view." The room overlooked rubbish-filled waste land, and the sea was only partially visible through gaps between buildings and trees. Hotel too small to adequately accommodate all of the guests. On one occasion, we were unable to get a seat at the bar in the evening due to the overcrowding. On another occasion, despite arriving very early in the morning, we were unable to find an available sunbed around the pool. We soon realised it was one of those hotels you have to get up at 6am to put your towel out or you miss out. Something I hate doing but was left no choice. On further research it seems this hotel was previously a 2-star hotel which after a basic refurbishment now claims to be a 4-star hotel. However, we found the hotel and experience to be below the standard we expected based on the reviews and 4-star claim.
