"Freedom" Retrospective Exhibition of Maria Filopoulou

From 24 May to 30 October 2025, the Nafplio branch of the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum presents Eleftheria (Freedom), an exhibition dedicated to the painting of Maria Filopoulou.

Through 15 paintings and two sculptures, Filopoulou expresses a profound need to create, drawing inspiration from vividly experienced places beneath Mediterranean skies and suns. Her works celebrate the presence of the human figure in nature, bathed in light and rhythm, and evoke a sense of freedom through their immersive depictions of sea, space and movement.
