The Lake Hotel Ioannina

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel during our school trip and our experience was outstanding! We had 80 students aged 16-17 and 5 accompanying teachers. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. The buffets for the breakfast and dinner were rich, delicious and offered a great variety to suit all our students' tastes. The location was by the lake and the view was breathtaking! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality! We will definitely be back!

Great for a night stay. Check in staff was friendly, room was spacious, car park space was huge and breakfast was excellent. Many food joints nearby and relatively near to Center of Ioannina. We were there in early April. Note that because it’s not summer yet, there is no air conditioning according to the staff, only hot air in the room.

Overpriced,not a five star especially of the way we have been treated.Lack of knowledge of customer experience essentials.Should look into what their competitors offer and base their approach not on how to earn money but how to treat guests with care and professionalism according to the stars they are supposed to have.People that do visit 5 star hotels can know the difference,your guests are not landing in your site without prior experience from other hotels nor are ignorant on when something bad happens how a hotel owner can help them .Watch out prepayments they don’t return money back and don’t have the courtesy to offer alternatives to make you feel better because your kid unexpectedly got sick…I am so regretful to have booked in this hotel and lost trust in people’s empathy….

The overall hotel looks good. The location is not great - far from the center, close to a football stadium. The sound isolation was not great - we were unlucky to have noisy neighbors.

It pains me write this review since Ioannina is the city my family is from and I want the businesses in the area to do well. They consider themselves a 5 star hotel which in my experience is not true at all, it is a bad hotel disguised as a good one. The staff were rude and were caught on more then one occasion over charging the price at the buffet because they thought my family did not speak Greek. They would also give you incorrect change in hopes you would not notice. The beautiful pool they like to show on their website as being relaxing is far from it. What they don't tell you is that they open the pool to the public and it is swarmed with school children and teenagers who don't care about hotel guests. Air conditioning in the room blew hot air the entire time, they would refill the tissues in the room with exactly '3' tissues. Yes only 3. There is plenty more that made our experience staying at this hotel a bad one, however I wont list them all otherwise this review will be a novel. If you're going to market yourselves as a 5 star hotel and charge those prices, then act like it.
