Abelonas Retreat Sunset & Sunrise Lodgings

We stayed in the room with the loft. The views were stunning. The front desk guy was very informative about the area. It is the perfect place as home base while exploring. 30 min walk to Fira. The bus stop close by is a hard walk. Downhill to the stop. Uphill back. Very difficult walk. Consider taking a taxi back instead of bus to avoid walking up the hill. The in room breakfast was very plentiful and fresh and such an added feature to enjoy your view. Would definitely stay here again. Pool was refreshing as well. Sunset and sunrise views were just stunning. Restaurants steps away as well as a store.

Great place to stay in Santorini with a beautiful Sunrise and Sunset view. Complimentary breakfast is really great with nice Vegetarian options. Greek yogurt is really good. Fresh Orange juice is delicious. Friendly staff. Paul is a very nice person, and treats the customers so well. Rooms are very good - spacious and clean. One mineral Water bottle is served per stay. Parking space anywhere in the street can be used. Basic amenities such as Shampoo, Shower gel, Towels, bathrobe are provided. Complimentary WiFi is available and the speed is good. Tap water is not consumable. We can buy bottled water from the nearby supermarket (1€). We had a great stay in Abelonas Retreat, Santorini.

Absolutely charming resort with an unbelievable view of the entire island. We reserved a room that had both an outdoor balcony and a rooftop you can access for panoramic view of the entire island. Since it’s near the top of Imerovigli, it’s definitely one of the best views on the entire island. There are countless great restaurants nearby, and the walking trail to Oia and Fira goes right by the front of the building, making it super easy to get around. The service was all lovely as well, from delivering breakfast every morning to booking a shuttle for our early flight home. Very highly recommend!

I travel internationally twice a year and have a Genius Level 3 account with Booking.com, so I’ve used their services extensively. However, my experience with this hotel has been absolutely awful. I booked a non-refundable stay for three nights in Greece, but within just a few hours, I realized I made a mistake with my dates. I immediately reached out to the hotel via the Booking.com app, expecting some basic understanding and flexibility. Instead, they coldly refused to help and redirected me to Booking.com, even though I had contacted them directly through the app. Booking.com made four separate attempts to negotiate with the property, but the hotel was completely unreasonable. Their only "solution" was to demand an outrageous extra fee of over 500 Euros to change the dates—pushing the total cost to over 1000 Euros for just three nights! When I explained that this was unaffordable and asked to downgrade my room to match the original price, they flat-out refused. No refunds, no adjustments, no basic human decency. This hotel is nothing but a money-hungry scam, exploiting any opportunity to squeeze more cash out of its guests. Their complete lack of professionalism and compassion is appalling. It’s a beautiful place, but it’s run by people with zero morals. Avoid at all costs—I will never stay here!

Lovely Stay at Abelonas Retreat Golden East moved my booking here, and I was pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, and I could see both the sunrise and sunset – absolutely beautiful views. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was really good. Even though the weather wasn’t great during my stay, the overall experience at Abelonas Retreat was very nice.
