The Olive Grove Villas

At The Olive Grove Villa’s you are in an oasis of peace and tranquillity. The big house is spacious and equipped with everything you need. There is lots of space around the house with various places to sit, which makes it cozy. The pool is lovely with enough beds to sun-bade or to lie in the shadow of the trees (or umbrellas) around. Fofi really knows what hospitality is. She is super friendly, helpfully and always there for you if needed. Can’t wait to return!

Two families, the pool was superb and well used by kids, brilliant recommended restaurants. Not far to town and we were glad we stayed close to an authentic village (Archanes). Host was so responsive and accurate with suggestions.

A hidden paradise in the lovely village of Archanes, just outside of Iraklion. The Writers Repose is a unique place situated between hills and surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. We loved the view from the villa and we even went into the forest (Fourni) behind the villa for a beautiful sunset overlooking the city of Iraklion. (Recommended by the owners) For us, the beautiful garden with the swimming pool were an absolute highlight! Regarding indoors, it’s very nicely decorated, spacious, fully equipped and very comfortable. (You don’t have to bring your own books because there are plenty to read!) About the village; many small streets to wander around, a main square with trees and cafes and enough good restaurant options for a small bite or a great dinner. We loved Kritamon (Cretan style dishes with a modern twist) and Agora (Small meze) You can also visit some local wineries around the village. The famous archeological site of Knossos is only a 7 minute drive from The Writers Repose.

This really is a prime location! Large quiet site, near forest and village and close to Heraklion. The villas are beautifully styled and comfortably furnished. Fofi's service is great, she is very helpful, knowledgeable and speaks good English. Cleaning and changing sheets/towels is done a few times a week. We worked online for a week, WiFi is fine. A place to go back to again!
