Creta Verano Hotel

The room was very clean, but if I was to visit again I would ask for a room at the ground floor. We had a top room, the roof is flat and the air conditioning barely manages to cool down the room during the night. Else, everything was alright. The personnel was kind and helpful! The location is good, central but a bit distant to the beach. Yet, for us it's was a good opportunity to have walks.

The hotel is actually made of what could be considered apartments, since each of them has almost even a kitchen inside. My room was a triple. The good: The room was spacious enough to separate the beds There's a phon There's a very big balcony, at least in my case, with one table and a couple of seats. Since it was shared with another room, there's a chance to socialize even more. The breakfast is well made and organized, and if you need to wake up early you can just ask the staff and they'll make at least what doesn't need to be cooked even 1 hour earlier than scheduled. NO MOSQUITOES! Tables and seats available outside the hotel with shadow from the sun The so-so: Since the balcony is shared, you can't sleep with an open window-door even if it's hot, but the AC will do it's job. It's just I don't really like to be under AC 24/7. My bed was the one closest to the bathroom, the floor isn't very clean in that area. My sheets had holes everywhere The bad: The shower drain was clogged and the water couldn't be contained, resulting in an always wet bathroom floor That shower curtain...brrr No place to hang stuff to dry unless you want to use the chairs outside or risk it falling down from the balcony railing due to the wind. They said they would pass every day to clean, but didn't. Maybe once every two days.

The hotel is run by a family who really go the extra mile to accommodate travellers. They are friendly and gentle. The hotel is not in the centre of Malia,so the hustle and bustle of the area can be avoided. At the same time, it is located just off the old town,which is lovely to walk about. Good choice if you intend to spend your vacation in Herakleion, Crete.

clean rooms and whole hotel, friendly staff. nothing fancy but as 3 stars worth it.

Rooms: clean, refreshed daily, basic furnishings. No objection. Breakfast: something different every day, although similar. Choice of tea, coffee, juice and water. Very nice lady serving the kitchen. Location: close to the center of town, about 20 minutes walk to the beach, the same amount to the mountains. Lots of grocery and souvenir stores, restaurants and bars. Service: very nice, helpful, doing a great job. Bravo! Additional perks: neat little pool, sun loungers with umbrellas, shower and toilet by the pool, hotel lobby bar (chips, drinks), helpful hotel owner. Minuses: hard to stand in a room without air conditioning (9€/day). Thank you for your hospitality! :)
