Alexandra Beach Thassos Spa Resort

We are just at the end of our stay at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and clean. The choice and quality of food is exceptional and the dining room staff work so hard. Every breakfast and evening meal we were greeted by the lovely Florentina who was always so friendly and welcoming and most evenings we were served and looked after by Sofia who was also so lovely. We wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel and we particularly liked being here during this quieter period.

Beautiful location and views, and the gardens are well kept. Staff were generally kind, especially Nicky and Theo and the sailing trip was a highlight. The hotel has its own marina, which makes it easy to join activities directly from the resort. Just skip the packed lunch, it didn't match the quality of the rest of the experience. That said, the hotel fell short of a 4-star experience. The taverna closed at 6:30pm during our stay (we were told it opens later from June), which left only the buffet as a dinner option, not ideal for guests with limited mobility. Room service was limited to the pool bar, where I had one of the worst pizzas I've ever eaten, and there's a €10 minimum spend. The minibar was empty unless prepaid, and the safe, charged at €2.50/day, was at the bottom of the wardrobe, unattached, and required kneeling to use. There's also a €1 charge for beach towels, the gym doesn't open until 10am, and despite using the "please clean sign", our room wasn't cleaned two days in a row. Noise from neighbouring rooms and upstairs was also an issue due to lack of soundproofing. Nice place overall, close to Potos, but not mobility-friendly and not up to 4-star standards.

I totally recommend Alexandra Beach Thassos for people who want to enjoy Thassos island by staying at one of the most beautiful, quiet but at the same time close to Potos, a vibrant city just 5min walking distance from the hotel. The staff was nice and welcoming. The room with private pool was so pleasant and the Taverna restaurant served us the best grilled octopus.

Nice hotel. I stayed there with friends while participating in the Thasos bike tour. Good location, breakfast was plentiful for my taste. The hotel has a free parking. The space is walk friendly overall very pleasant. It has a small beach on the spot.

This is a nice hotel with a lovely view. Rooms: The rooms were nice, though somewhat small and the bathroom door had no lock on it (as a family of 4 in one room we had to use towels or shoes to keep the bathroom door shut). Also, the shower was awful - terrible water pressure and temperature that never stays the same, changing very quickly. Once, the shower very quickly changed from freezing cold to burning hot after I tried to change the temperature and I burnt my leg!!!!!!! Be very careful of the water if you have small children - you wouldn't want to burn them. I don't know if this issue was just with our room or all of them. We stayed in a room with a shared pool which was nice and not as busy as the main pool. Beach: The beach was not as nice as advertised, it is very rocky, with no soft sand which makes it painful to get into the sea with bare feet(there are many sharp rocks under the water). The beach is quite small so it would probably be packed in the summer (we came in may so it was quiet). Beach side food and drink were very nice, and the beach staff were friendly. There are 2 floating plastic platforms to jump off which were fun but there is sharp plastic and broken pieces in them so be careful not to cut yourself. Overall, would recommend walking for about 5 mins to the much nicer sandy beaches nearby. Food: The food is ok - some nights it was pretty good others it was just average - the staff were friendly and there is a pretty descent variety of food. Breakfast was also alright - a descent selection but many breakfast foods were cold when you went to get them. The atmosphere isn't great - it feels like a canteen instead of a proper sit down restaurant. Would recommend eating at the hotel for about half the nights of your stay and eating elsewhere at much nicer local restaurants. Would recommend the Taverna Irene in Potos. Overall a descent hotel but I'd look at other hotels on the island before deciding to book this one. The island is very beautiful and we will definitely be coming back but probably not to the Alexandra Beach Resort.
