Skip the Line: Athens City Tour, Breathtaking Acropolis & Acropolis Museum

<p>The Athens half-day tour departs for a photo stop at the impressive Panathinaiko Stadium where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. It is the only stadium built out of white marble. Proceed, passing by Zappeion and Temple of Olympian Zeus.You will then pass the Athens Trilogy which includes the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Continue passing by National Garden, Hadrian’s Arc, St. Paul’s Church, Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown soldier, Schliemann’s House (Numismatic Museum), Catholic Cathedral,Old Parliament, Constitution Square ,Russian Orthodox Church, and finally reach Acropolis. Stroll up to the UNESCO-listed site that served as the ancient citadel and visit the monumental marble gates of the Propylae, the Temples of Athena, Nike and Parthenon. Epidaurus Ancient Theater and the Mythical Site of Mycenae Day Trip

<p>Depart from our terminal via the coastal National highway for the strategically important Corinth canal (short stop). Continue to the region of Argolis, land of Homer’s Golden Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dating back to the second century B.C., Mycenae was one of the major centers of Greek civilization and a military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece. Avoid and skip the lines of the archaeological site, home to the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon. Marvel at the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion’s Gate, the Royal Tombs, including Agamemnon Clytemnestra's, and the Treasury of Atreus, a magnificent 14th-century B.C. structure.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Time will then be taken for a delicious Greek optional lunchat a nearby restaurant. Afterward, stop in the beautiful sea port of Nauplia the first capital of modern Greece with its Venetian fortress ofPalamidi and the fortified islet of Bourtzi (short stop). Continue on to Epidaurus and visit the ancient theatre. The UNESCO’S world heritage listed monument is reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo's son Asklepios, the healer and was the most celebrated healing center of the classical world. Epidaurus is probably most famous for its theatre, one of the best preserved classical Greek buildings and still used today due to its amazing acoustics. Your day tour finishes with a drop off service back to your Athens central hotel late in the afternoon.</p>

Day Tour to Delphi, the Navel of the World

<p>After meeting your professional guide in Athens, hear tales about the ancient Greeks and their lives in Delphi while traveling to the town by air-conditioned luxury coach. You will reach Delphitowards Mt. Parnassos, making a short rest stop outside the town of Levadia.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Your first stop is at the Delphi archaeological site – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and easily one of the most important digs in Europe.Avoid and skip the lines of the archaeological site and walk around the evocative ruins with your guide, see impressive monuments like the monument of the Argive Kings, the treasury of the Athenians, the Athenian Stoa, the Polygonal Wall, the monument of Platea andthe Temple of Apollo famous for its oracle.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Your second stop is at the Delphi museum. Pythian Games, and many other artifacts. Early Access to the Acropolis of Athens Semi Private Walking Tour

<p>Meet your expert guide at our office, and reach the south slope of the Acropolis, where you will admire the Dionysus Sanctuary and Dionysus Theater. Walk up the hill leading to the Acropolis significant site and have your camera ready for snapping photos of the historical monuments of Acropolis, including the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Pedestal of Agrippa.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Having explored the Acropolis site and going downhill, you will admire significant sights of the capital of Greece, including the Ancient Agora and the National Observatory of Athens. Passing by the Roman Forum, the Fethiye Mosque Museum and the Hadrian's Library, you will end up at the famous Monastiraki Square.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>After the end of this half day tour, you can visit the flea market, one of the best places to buy just about anything or continue strolling and enjoy your lunch or your coffee at one of the little, picturesque shops, creating memories of a lifetime.</p>

Day Rail Tour to the Majestic Meteora Monasteries

<p>Catch the train of 7:20 a.m. to Kalambaka from the Athens Railway Station and enjoy a unique trip. Countless panoramic images of the beautiful countryside will remain etched in your memory. Arrive around 11:30 a.m. in Kalambaka, a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks, and crowded by the Meteora Monasteries.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>When you arrive at the rail station in Kalambaka, our expert English speaking escort will be waiting for you holding a signboard with your name on it and will transfer you to the Meteora Monasteries. For about four hours you will have the time to explore three Monasteries as well as the hermit caves of Badovas. Meteora is included in the UNESCO world heritage monument list.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred back to Kalambaka, where you will have the time to stroll around or have a light lunch (not included in the price). At 17:15 p.m. the train departs from Kalambaka, and arrives at 21:25 back to Athens.</p>
