Astikon House

Easy 5 stars for this hotel on all levels! Easy checkin/checkout, fantastic rooms, outstanding free breakfast, perfect location, all for a great price equals an amazing value. We checked in late at night, and although check-in was a little weird being at the sister hotel across the street, it was easy and quick. Our room was clean, well appointed, modern stylish, and comfortable. It was nice having complementary water and a Nespresso machine too. The breakfast was outstanding with the buffet portion and also a selection of made to order dishes included for free. The fresh squeezed orange juice was the best ever! All of this was put together by Rena who was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The location was perfect and central to all the sightseeing highlights of Greece. It was also so easy to get to from both Syntagma and Monastriaki stations to access both the airport and Piraeus cruise port. All in all, this is such a great find and value. We would definitely stay here again next time!

First time stay at the hotel and I am not sure that I be visiting again. Unfortunately we got to stay in room 305 which is the only room on the 3 floor and outside your door (in the corridor) the breakfast buffet is laid out. Because of this expect that every day you will be awake at around 7am.

Beware if you are Asian, We booked The Marblous Athens hotel for 2 nights on the weekend. When we arrived, the hotel was clearly overbooked. The receptionist (or owner), the middle aged man at the desk told us that they had upgrade our room to suite at Astikon House, Room 105 (2nd floor)which was in a different building across the street. So, our 2 nights of nightmare started. The room was so noisy all night. Constant yelling, loud talking, door slamming, motorcycle and cars honking, sounds echoing through the street. It was obvious this building had no soundproofing at all. We felt like we were at the football field. The curtains too small to cover the entire windows to block off the street lights. We asked the receptionist, same person, to be moved to another room. He said he could move us to second floor in the same building we were in, not in the Marblous Athens. According to him it would be just as noisy as it would be on the same side of the building and only one floor higher. His tone was very pointed and quite rude, as if he could careless what we felt. We really didn’t have a much choice other than to stay in the same room because all of the other hotels in the area were fully booked as it was the weekend. We were instructed to use the breakfast area in the Astikon House, located on the third floor. We met several guests at breakfast in the Astikon House and noticed about 80% of them Asian (including me). Was this a coincidence?
