The Enchanted Shepherd by Spyridon Peresiadis

As part of the institution All of Greece One Culture 2025, the Ancient Theatre of Samos (Wooden Theatre) will host The Enchanted Shepherd by Spyridon Peresiadis on August 30 and 31.

This dramatic idyll in three acts, brought to life through Greek songs and dances, is reinterpreted in a lyrical and contemporary staging that draws deeply on memory and oral tradition. Set in a world where nature speaks and magic challenges love, The Enchanted Shepherd becomes a return to lost rituals and timeless emotions.

Folk melodies, transformations both strange and poetic, and motifs rooted in Greek rural life shape a performance that celebrates the power of memory. Here, the past is not static – it becomes a place of longing, a creative tool for reimagining the present, and a reflection of what we carry within us, continuously changing with time.
