A great little hotel, clean and spacious. Good breakfast and very polite hosts! Just note that parking is very tight and difficult to find in the neighbourhood, especially if you are not Greek and are not used to the way it's done here in such areas.

The hotel is on a smaller street but very close to the main shopping area and a short walk to the square to catch the bus to Knossos. It is a little strange that they notified us there would be no attendant after 15:00. They did provide instructions to access the room but we arrived before then so did not need to use them. There was only one attendant and it appeared she was responsible for almost everything from dealing with guests to keeping breakfast refreshed. I do want to give her an excellent review because she handled it very efficiently with a good attitude but was quite busy. We needed to catch a ferry early the next day to Santorini and I was a little concerned our taxi request would be missed. But not only was our taxi on time a small breakfast was packed for us. The breakfast buffet could be considered small by some but it satisfied us. We had a family room and the access was on a side street which was not directly part of the hotel. The room was fine but some items such as curtains and bed coverings need to be updated. The beds we comfortable. We would stay there again but would look around before doing so.

Everything about this hotel is simply wonderful!!!! The staff is world class and amazingly friendly. I was there for two nights and enjoyed every minute of my stay. The complimentary breakfast was a great touch for this boutique hotel. It had a great selection of hot and cold breakfast items that catered towards an international audience. There was also coffee service which was an added surprise as well. I stayed in the family maisonette which was spacious for two people and it was beautifully appointed with modern touches with rustic charm. The doors open out to the street and the gorgeous courtyard. The location of the hotel is only 2-3 minutes to the city center and a 5-10 minute walk to the port. I would definitely recommend this location for any international tourists! The friendly staff speaks great English and the wifi service is strong as well. Happy travels!

I had a terrible experience with this hotel and had multiple issues with my stay. BEWARE. Upon arrival, the hotel was completely locked up with no staff on site. There was only a note for an emergency number of the door. Luckily my cab driver was nice enough to call and help me out, as I did not have cell phone service in Greece to be able to make the call. The driver eventually got in touch with the staff who were able to find my reservation and provide a code to a lock box with a key. Once I got the key, it was extremely difficult to open both the main hotel door and room door, because the keys and locks were so beat up from years of use that they repeatedly became jammed and stuck. Once I entered the room, it appeared clean enough (at least superficially) but the entire place smelled incredibly musty, with a strong stench of mildew and mold. The bath towels were especially stinky. After settling in, I wandered out for the evening to explore the city of Heraklion. The one positive note I have about the hotel is that the location is excellent and is within walking distance of city center. When I got back to my room for the evening, I was preparing to get ready for bed, but then I saw several tiny bugs crawling all over the bed! It was unclear if they were bed bugs or something else, but regardless it was disgusting and distressing. Since there was still no staff on site, I tried to call the emergency number provided but no one picked up. I then called my travel booking company to discuss and they attempted to get in touch with the hotel but were unable to. Since I was absolutely NOT willing to stay in the hotel with a bug infestation, I was forced to book another hotel late that evening and walk to it. Don't stay here. You've been warned.
