Santa Maria City Hotel

From the start we had problems with check in,the lady at the reception was confused,she was saying that she couldn't take the payment which we made months ago... the superior room was very bad, we asked to change it but there they said there is nothing else available, they never change the towels or bed sheets. The balcony was very unsafe. Very cheap refurbished. I wouldn't recommend it.

BAD service and attitude from the female receptionist! She is extremely RUDE, and not serviceminded. Specifically, her response when we informed her that our shower drain was completely clogged upon arrival, she said she should solve it ourselves by removing the parts of the drain! That’s disgusting and unacceptable! The water was all over the floor, we used 5 towels to keep it from leaking into the bedroom. It was only when we informed her male colleague about the drain issue that maintenance was called to fix the drain, and that we finally got new towels. We were shocked that she would even ask us to do it ourselves, and not offer to solve it for us - especially since it was clogged before we even used the shower. The least she could do was to offer us new towels as the old ones were soaking up the sewage water, and she didn’t even manage to do such a basic thing. She had an attitude problem from the start, and we hope she will improve it moving forward. Furthermore, the breakfast is bland, dry and tasteless. Only good thing is the location of the hotel and the overall cleanliness of the rooms and other areas. The cleaning staff is super nice and friendly! Edit in return to your response: I refer to the two receptionists as “male” and “female” as I don’t know their names, in an attempt to explain the different treatment we experienced. Obviously, your receptionists aren’t technicians - we never expected such as thing. Our dissatisfaction was with the response we got, the fact that we should try and fix it ourselves. The next morning, we went down to get an update on the situation (this was the 3rd time regarding this issue). At this point, the male receptionist (sorry, I still don’t know his name) informed us that there had been NO note left regarding the drain, and only then, the technicians were called to fix the issue and we finally got new towels. As you said yourself in your response below, CCTV will prove this ;)

When the plane took off from Rhodes I shed tears.. It is the proof itself that I have had a super holiday in Rhodes, with Santa Maria City Hotel as my safe base. I stayed at the hotel for 28 days in January and had a wonderful stay! The rooms are spacious and clean, and the breakfast was good. The hotel staff made my stay extra great, they are so friendly and helpful all the time. I love them

Everything was perfect during our stay at Santa Maria. We liked the hotel, location, hotel staff, breakfast and rooms. You may find all basic things what you are looking for. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. A big thank to Sofia from Front Desk. She was very helpful in any case. I highly recommend Santa Maria who would like visit Rhodes İsland.

Would you like to read the most detailed review? This hotel offered the lowest price. Its location is very central, very close to shops, restaurants, the port and the casino. The hotel has been newly renovated. The ground floor lobby and breakfast area are nice and stylish. There are small changes in the breakfast menu every day, it is smiliar but not the same every day. You will be pleased with the breakfast. The bathrooms in the rooms have been renovated and look nice. The bathroom floor ceramics are laid incorrectly, water accumulates after a shower. The variety of personal care products in the bathroom is nice and enough. It is not possible to say the same for the room walls and floors condition, but it is okay, not terrible. Every room has a balcony. The balconies on the front side are wider. The filters of the air conditioners are not clean, black dust falls from them. There is no ceiling lighting in the room. There is lighting at the headboard and on the wall, and I think it is inadequate. There is a mini fridge, TV and a wardrobe without a door. If it had more room capacity it would probably be 4 stars. The lady working at the reception during the day is a bit dominant, but the young Greek guy whose name is Lefteris on the evening shift is very cheerful and answers your questions well. He gives very good advice and guidance. He will always be among the most cheerful people I have ever seen.
