Descrizione

Nema Hotel & Suites captures the very essence of Athens city center. Housed in an emblematic building that used to operate as a textile trading company for over 70 years, Nema has infused all these elements of recent history and transformed them into a contemporary accommodation option. Named after the yarn that has characterized not only the industry that bloomed in the area but also Penelope’s endless weaving in anticipation of her loved one’s return, the thread encompasses a timeless connection between the past and the present.

Within close walking distance, to Monastiraki and Ancient Agora, the Nema city boutique hotel consists of 13 brand-new rooms and suites that ooze with urban chic luxury. They have been designed in a manner that blends tradition and modernity, celebrating much sought-after sustainability in a central location. Guests are welcome to experience the ultimate Athenian stay, enjoying unmatched comfort through a wide array of modern facilities. The hospitality of the highest standards always with a smile guarantees idyllic lodging for travelers in Athens.

In perfect alignment with the surroundings, Nema is part of the city’s identity and carries on its long-lasting history. A full-scale mural of Joe Williams’ Penelope has been crafted by KEZ and adorns the side wall of the building, reflecting the fundamental contribution of weaving in the wider region. Relish authentic flavors at Nema’sSpritzeria – Cicchetteriaor enjoy a drink at the cute roof garden overlooking the city from above, taking in that precious Athenian vibe.

Book your stay in Nema and be part of this wonderful myth unfolding before your eyes. Welcome!

I stayed in this hotel for a conference in June 2025. The hotel is relatively small but absolutely charming. The staff is amazing, very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are a bit small but very clean and comfortable and the hotel is in close proximity to the Monastiraki tram station and market place. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. I had an excellent stay.

My wife says if we visit Athens again ( we have a plan to visit Athens in the future 😁 and travel up. Up to Kavala.) we will stay in Nema Hotel. She is right. This clean, small hotel not only has ' clever rooms' but also is located 5 minutes away from the Monastriki square, Plaka, train station, hop on hop off busses. You can easily walk any time of the day for a coffee, alcohol, lunch or dinner. Shopping is easy with flea market at Monastriki for your souvenirs. Hello to the nice Brazilian girl. Sorry I didnt have time for coffee.😁 Hard Rock Cafe Athens is there. Hotel service is very nice and the breakfast is very good. I thank all the staff at the reception for their kind and professional approaches. God Bless you all.

A great little hotel. The room was small but very clean and bright. Once you get used to the control panels that control everything in the room (which the staff show you) that's fine. My one complaint is that both the shower and bathroom sink tap came off, but could be reattached and still worked. Just needs a simple fix. As other reviewers have commented, the noise from the street can get pretty loud, but that's what you get when you're situated in the centre. It wasn't as bad as some have suggested for me, as the street itself is like a little side street. All the staff were great- Anastasia who welcomed me was super friendly in particular, as were the male members of staff I saw. Taxi booking was easy and done for me several times. They're open about the fact they don't have a 'proper' bartender at the mo, so basic drinks only, no cocktails- didn't bother me, but apparently they're working on this, and the selection of alcohol was fine. Breakfast was good- continental, with some hot meats and pastries. Some of the negative reviews have surprised me a bit but each to their own. I'd recommend this place and would definitely visit again if you want somewhere central in Athens. Thanks Nema!

We were unable to stay at Nema Hotel due to unexpected circumstances, but their outstanding service deserves recognition. Despite the last-minute notice, the staff responded quickly, kindly, and offered a flexible solution with no hesitation. Truly exceptional hospitality. [Sharon Dviri]

Room minimalist but nice, good bathroom. Operating the lights and AC were challenging but service and breakfast very good. Location in a back street but did not feel threatened at all, seems safe.
