Grecotel Filoxenia

The hotel is situated 15-20 minutes drive from the airport and is about a 10 minute bus drive from Kalamata downtown. We were welcomed very warmly by the hotel staff, were checked in by them while sitting comfortably at the lobby’s lounge. There are three pools (one for kids, a large one and a medium sized infinity) and a private beach. The sea from the sea-side room can be seen only when stepping out to the balcony. The room wasn’t big but cozy. However there were three main downsides to the room. We had no full body mirror, had no kettle to make tea, and the shower stream was weak. The pools were lovely and the water had a good temperature. One con was that if you didn’t catch a sun bed right after breakfast, you wouldn’t be able to get any until the late afternoon. The breakfast was minimal but delicious with good quality. The staff at the restaurant and the pool were amazing!! Any request was answered warmly and with a big will and smile. The reception staff were also very friendly and always available via WhatsApp. Would love to stay there again.

Excellent service and hotel grounds. Renovations were done this year (2025) and the rooms are absolutely stunning. We had our wedding in Kalamata and all our guests stayed at Filoxenia... they are all still talking about how incredible the hotel was. Highly recommend!

Celebrating 50 years of the brand, Grecotel is rightly proud of it's achievement. Service is fantastic and a special mention for Niki who took care of our every restaurant and bar requirements. Lovely pool and recently refurbished rooms are good value. The gym has tired equipment despite the refurbishment, perhaps no one goes when they're on holiday? Lots of families here so if you're seeking quiet, this is not the place. It didn't bother us at all, it's lovely seeing them having fun!

Very nice location: near the town of Kalamata, and at the same time on the beach. New renovated rooms. The maids do a wonderful job with the cleaning and tidying of the rooms. The breakfast is rich and fresh. As for the employees of the restaurant I can only say good things. Always willing to help. The same goes for the reception staff and all the employees of the hotel.

wonderful resort to relax in beautiful atmosphere. Very friendly service, reception desk very quick responsive, offered upgrade for one room upfront. A bit tough to make deals for extension, would recommend to book directly.
