Genari Beach Apartments Ilia

Appartment is big, well equipped, comfy, with a separate room and an extra couch (3rd person of child) in the living room. Kitchen has all the necessary amenities and terrasse and garden in front leads directly to the beach with a magnificent sunset over Zakynthos and Kefalonia. Comunication was easy with translation help. The only point is the alguae fiiling up the beach, you can't really enjoy the beach, but you have some access from the rocks if you crave for it. Place is a bit remote (but thus also super quiet) 2km to supermarket nearby), 10min to Pyrgos main, 30min from Ancient Olympia, but mostly straight big road. GPS is accurate and sign indicates the entrance of the last strech of road to reach the house.

We had a great stay at Genari Beach Apartments. We stayed in a apartment detached from the main house, with it's own entrance. The interior was charming and spotless clean. We had access to a terase and a big garden as well, which was very beautiful and calm. The garden gives access to the seaside directly, making it a very special place. I fully recommend it.

The place is beautiful, located at the seaside so the view is amazing!I booked a small house made of stone which is located in a private property. I spent there 4 days and it was a great time. The house is renovated, comfortable for 2 or even 4 people. Nicely furnished and decorated, with a small but clean and functional bathroom. A bed was very comfy. The Internet worked very well, even while sitting outside (there is a small terrace with a table where you can eat looking at the sea). There is no washing maschine, but you can easily do the laundry without an additional fee. There is a very beautiful garden, many trees, charming gazebo where you can enjoy sunsets. Very quiet place, you can really rest there. The family who lives in a nearby house and runs this business is friendly and unobtrusive. There is 1,8 km to the closest taverna, 4,5 km to Katakolo (a very nice walk), there is a nice beach with umbrellas and a bar in a close neighbourhood. There is a spacious car park.

This is definitely one of the best places where we rested. It is designed for a relaxing holiday. The only thing we missed in this apartment is a washing machine, although the landlady is very friendly, and we could always give her that she washed our things. Towels changed as needed. This place is very convenient for visiting Olympia. We also visited the island of Zakynthos and the beach of Voyodokiya. I recommend this apartment!!! Thank you, Anna and your mather:)

I've stayed here twice now, and while I've tried to enjoy it due to the great location, I will not return. Firstly, they should no longer advertise "private beaches." One tiny beach that was here a year ago is now under water. And the other is almost completely full of seaweed. This is not the fault of the owners, but they should be more upfront about it. Also, the WIFI is TERRIBLE. I came here to get away from work, but at times I need to write emails and that can barely even be accomplished. I'm writing this review from one of their apartments. Just did an internet speed test and it was 240 kilobytes/second. That's right, it's so slow here it doesn't even register in megabytes/second. Also no AC and barely any outlets. Oh, and while they did provide a fan, it doesn't even fit in the room we wanted to sleep in with the double bed. The place is small and OLD. I love old-world charm, but this building itself just feels run down and not well taken care of. There were sponges wedged under the sink the bathroom, presumably to absorb a leaky pipe. Why not just fix the pipe?
