AELIA Tinos

I booked Aelia Tinos through Booking.com for nearly €200 per night, expecting a clean and comfortable stay. What I encountered was shocking and completely unacceptable: • The entire property smelled strongly of mold, including all linens and towels. • Visible mold on the walls and inside the air conditioning unit, which clearly had never been serviced. • Rodent droppings found in the outdoor area. • Internet did not work from afternoon until morning every day. • Evidence of repeated attempts to simply paint over mold rather than clean it. I have full photographic and video evidence of these conditions. The owner dismissed every concern and claimed there was “no problem,” despite visible proof. I also noticed cleaning products specifically for mold hidden in cupboards, which contradicts their denial. We attempted to find alternative accommodation, but due to high season availability was extremely limited and prices were unreasonably high. This was one of the most disappointing and unhealthy travel experiences I have ever had. I cannot recommend this property to anyone, and I strongly urge travelers to look elsewhere.

On top of that, the property is located far from the town center, which means a long walk to reach cafes, shops, and other amenities. Between the hygiene issues and the inconvenient location, this accommodation was very disappointing. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed. The staff were kind and attentive, the room was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The location made it easy to explore, but it was always a joy to come back and relax.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Misleading Listing and Poor Hygiene I was very disappointed with this accommodation for several reasons. Firstly, the room was located in the basement, which was not stated anywhere in the listing. This felt very misleading and would have influenced my decision to book. The basement room had a strong moldy smell, and even the towels provided had a noticeable odor of mildew. To make matters worse, there were mouse droppings in the room’s private yard, which is absolutely unacceptable. When we raised these concerns with the host, he was not only unhelpful but also extremely rude. He made no effort to resolve the issues and only offered us the option to check out early — but made it clear that no refund would be provided for the remaining nights due to “policy.” This level of customer service is completely unacceptable, especially considering we paid EUR 200 per night for a double room — a price that in no way reflects the condition or quality of the stay. Overall, I do not recommend this property. The listing is misleading, the conditions are unhygienic, and the host is unprofessional and unaccommodating. Definitely not worth the money.
