Açıklama

Mikro Papigo köyünde, Astraka dağ sığınağına giden iyi işaretlenmiş bir patikayı takip ederek tırmanışımıza başlıyoruz. Smolikas'taki Drakolimni, Yunanistan'ın ikinci en büyük dağında 2.150 metre yükseklikte yer almaktadır. Tırmanış boyunca, Papigo Kuleleri ve Nemertsika Dağı (Arnavutluk'ta) gibi harika manzaralarımız olacak.

Daha sonra, yaz aylarında kuru olan Xerolimni gölüne iniyoruz; bu göl milyonlarca yıl önce buzullar tarafından oluşmuştur. Ardından, göle doğru dik bir yürüyüş yapıyoruz; bu, Balkan keçilerinin (yaban keçileri) yaşam alanlarında ne yaptığımızı merak ederek bize eşlik etmesi ve Aoos Kanyonu ile Smolikas Dağı'nın muhteşem manzarası ile ödüllendiriyor.

Ayrıca, bahar aylarında gölün sularında yaşayan alpin semenderleri ile karşılaşma olasılığı oldukça yüksektir.
