Episode description

In this episode, we explore the culinary traditions of Thassos through two of its most famous products: honey and olive oil. We visit local beekeepers harvesting the island's unique pine honey – including Kostas Panagiotopoulos, president of the Thassos Beekeepers' Cooperative, and Dimitris Koutlis of Koutlis Honey – and the historic Sotirelis family mill, where Kleopatra Paplomata guides us through the PDO-designated "throuba" olives pressed into golden extra virgin oil. Along the way, we see how centuries-old techniques meet modern production, and how these island flavours are brought from forest and grove straight to the table.
