We speak to three people who chose to stay in their home city and give it new energy: Vasiliki Zafeiria Ypsylanti, founder of Mantility, a silk gallery where tradition meets contemporary design; Stella Rokkou, a ceramicist who teaches her craft at the Gaia Ceramic School in the shadow of Kavala's Acropolis; and Eva Economou Vamvaka, Artistic Director of the Philippi Festival, who has brought a fresh, contemporary vision to one of Greece's longest-running cultural institutions. Through their work, a different Kavala comes into focus – modern, yet firmly rooted in tradition.
