Upon arriving at the building we had concerns about the location. The neighbourhood does not feel safe. Though the building itself felt secure enough. We were a bit disappointed to find that this place is not a hotel at all, in fact there is no reception and check in is done via text message with the owner who requested my email address in order to send me a payment link for the mandatory city tax in advance of our stay. This was only 2 euros but the whole process and communication felt convoluted and wrong. Armed with the PIN number which is the same for both the main entrance to the building as well as the room/apartment, we were able to access the place without any issues. The apartment itself was fairly modern and had a good range of amenities (fridge, microwave, two large screen TVs, Nespesso machine, etc): no complaints there. The bedding was unfortunately stained and quite disgusting which was unpleasant. Though the bed itself was comfortable and large. The AC and WiFi worked well and we were comfortable overall. All in all the apartment was good but let down by poor bedding cleanliness and the location of the building was in an unpleasant part of the city so I probably wouldn't stay again.

Communication before check-in was a bit difficult, as my written inquiries went unanswered for several days. In the end, things worked out, but only after I had already landed in Athens. The building looks new and modern, and check-in was contactless – surprisingly, no ID was required, which is unusual for Greece. The room was clean but very small and impersonal, with furnishings that felt quite cheap. The bathroom was tiny. Maybe I expected too much from a “Junior Suite” – to me, it felt more like a standard small room with a compact bathroom. It was fine for one night, but as someone who stays frequently in this area of Athens, I know there are much better options around for a similar price.

Extra large, lovely and pleasant rooms. Comfy bed, amazing shower and there's even a rooftop with charming view of Gazi. Highly recommended for short or long stay.

Rather disappointed with my stay at Vision Gazi. The good: the rooms are modern and clean. The bad: very noisy at night, issues with the hot water, sheets are not changed even though they say they do. The management was responsive about the hot water issue, but even once “resolved” the hot water didn’t last long enough to wash my hair in the shower. They also indicated that they would look into switching me to a less noisy room but never got back to me. It’s a shame, I had higher hopes for this hotel. I put a sticker on the sheets and inside the pillowcase to see if they would change them as they indicate that they do whenever you place a sign on the pillows. The stickers were still exactly where I placed them. 🤔

On Friday June 6th my fiancé and I checked into room 425 at Vision Gazi, the room was fairly decent and everything seemed cleaned but the first issue we encountered was that the split unit for the A/C would not turn on which resulted in the room being very hot. At this hotel there is no reception so generally there are no staff on property however the cleaner was still on site and an elderly gentleman who referred to himself as the “technician” who was moving a delivery to the basement. The cleaner tried to help get the A/C to work but was unsuccessful so she went to get the “technician”. I proceeded into the bathroom to shower, during my shower I realized the shower wasn’t draining properly and water was spilling into the bathroom so I cut my shower short, luckily I was turned towards the wall looking at the drain as I opened the shower door because it exploded. My fiancé came rushing to the bathroom to get me safely out of the shower and in the middle of the chaos I realized the “technician” was standing in the doorway of the room staring at me while I was in a sate of undress through the mirror on the bathroom door, it took several attempts of me yelling before he removed himself from the doorway. I contacted the hotel and with little urgency or compassion they asked if I needed a doctor when I sent them the photo attached to this review. After they confirmed a Doctor would be there in an hour still through text they asked if I would require anything before the Doctor comes and that is when I requested that an employee come speak to me in person. I was insured a manger would be over shortly and they arrived an hour later with the Doctor. While I was getting assessed by the doctor the manager pulled my fiancé to the balcony and immediately said “the “technician” said I must have walked into the door or opened it too hard”. My fiancé made the manager come back into the room so I could be included in the conversation. To add even more insult to injury the manager had the audacity to tell the Doctor that he didn’t need to flush my wounds for glass because the glass doesn’t break into tiny pieces (I literally looked like I belonged in twilight😑). I asked to be moved to a new room and asked for a refund, the manager asked why I wanted to be moved to a new room. After a full explanation including the need of having to shower off glass and all the glass that was now spread around the room and in the bed the manager showed my fiancé the new room and that was the last time we saw a member of staff for Vision Gazi the remainder of our stay. The manager kept repeating that all of the doors in the bathrooms had just been replaced and were all brand new so if you plan on staying here I would just be mindful that the shower door can explode on you, cause injury resulting in stitches, you will be traumatized and violated and then made to feel like a criminal.
