Optional Private Boat Upgrade (Private Option Only):
Private groups can upgrade their return with a boat transfer along the south coast via Loutro.

If weather conditions do not allow the boat, a full refund for the upgrade is provided.
Weather & Operational Policy:
Samaria Gorge operates under strict regulations by the Forest Service.
In case of closure due to extreme heat, heavy rain or fire risk, the following applies:
- Alternative hike offered (e.g., Agia Irini Gorge)
- Reschedule or refund depending on circumstances
- If the activity is already in progress, transport and guide services are considered delivered.
Ferry and boat services are subject to weather conditions. If the private boat upgrade cannot operate, a full refund for the upgrade is provided.
Participation requirements:
- Minimum age 12 years old with previous hike experience
- Basic physical condition
- Lack of acrophobia
- This activity is not recommended for guests with knee problems or heart conditions, or for pregnant women. In case of mobility difficulties, please contact us before booking.
Technical Information:
Difficulty Level: Very Challenging (Endurance / Distance)
This hike follows a 16 km section of the E4 trail through Samaria Gorge. The main challenge is endurance and impact on knees, not technical difficulty.
- Continuous downhill (~1,200m descent)
- Long duration (5–7+ hours hiking)
