This hotel is grand but it has all the warmth of a Greek family. The staff are warm, so friendly and helpful. We stayed here 4 different times during our rambling through Greece. Each time we returned, we were welcomed back like long lost family. What more could you want when you are so far away from home.

The bellhop was the absolute best. He did not like you to take your luggage, he you that you visit, I work, I take your bags for you. The staff, counter, bar, servers, maids, all of them are very friendly and very helpful with questions or whatever you need. The view of the other building and the mountains in the background was really relaxing. Breakfast included, very very good breakfast with lots of variety. Definately need to come back again.

Not far from the centre of Greece was the hotel - could walk there if you wanted. Checkin was pleasant. A very small old style lift was pretty slow. Rooms were very comfortable - no view from our room. Did leave our bags there for a couple of days & had to pay for the service. Unsure if that is normal.

Review for Athenaeum Grand Hotel: Athenaeum Grand Hotel is a truly pleasant and comfortable place to stay. The rooms are cozy and well-maintained, and both breakfast and dinner are excellent – the chef really deserves five stars for the quality and flavor of the food. The entire staff is warm, welcoming, and always ready to help, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. A special mention goes to Stavroula, one of the servers in the restaurant. She is an outstanding person – extremely pleasant, professional, and genuinely kind. She has that rare talent for making every guest feel valued and at home. Overall, this hotel not only offers comfort and great food but also the kind of service that makes you want to come back. Hospitality here feels heartfelt, not just routine – and that’s what makes all the difference.

To all who might visit Athens, I write in deep and sincere gratitude to a Greek brother and fellow patriot, Emilios, of the Athenaeum Hotel on Leoforos Singrou. He has gone far beyond mere hospitality — assisting me not only with accommodations but also when my CPAP machine failed — he has truly cared for me during a serious medical challenge. I write as a Greek, for among our people, ξενία (xenía) — the virtue of hospitality — remains sacred. In ancient times, our forefathers believed that the gods might appear disguised as strangers, testing our character and compassion. Before you all, I testify: Emilios is a man you can trust, someone whose kindness reflects the best of our heritage. He is the kind of person anyone would be proud to call family. And should any of you happen to have a very beautiful and intelligent daughter — I believe he is still single! May God bless you all, and may you remember Emilios at the Athenaeum Hotel in Athens. God bless Greece, and God bless her people.
