Σύντομη περιγραφή

Your local guide will meet you at your preferred location within the Chania town region. Your private daytrip will start by heading towards the region of Rethymno. We shall first visit the village of Margarites which is located on a picturesque green rolling hill of the Rethymno region. The village is well known for its pottery. We will learn of the tradition of pottery that goes back many generations in this village from Mrs. Eleni, the owner of a family pottery workshop and why not try yourselves the art of ceramics.

We shall then stroll on the lovely narrow winding streets of the village, which has some extraordinary architecture, lovely byzantine churches worth exploring and many ceramic workshops. On its central square we shall enjoy a Greek coffee with great views over the local countryside.

Going further inland we will next visit the famous Arkadi monastery. Unique natural beauty, prestigious history, numerous legends deeply rooted in time, heirlooms and thesaurus richness can perfectly describe this monastery. It has been a continuous and inseparable part of the Cretan history during the last eight centuries. Your local guide will introduce you to its history and let you soak up the beauty of the monastery.

Our next destination will be Rethymno town. Let your local guide curate you step by step to Rethymno’s rich cultural identity through storytelling, experiencing local hangouts and discovering the hidden treasures of the Old Town.

Your tour would not be complete without a delicious lunch in a traditional taverna in the alleys of the Old town.

At the end of your tour, our mission will be accomplished – you will leave with enjoyable memories and a much better understanding of Rethymno’s hinterland and Old town.
