Canyoning the Orlias Gorge on Mt Olympus

<p>Orlias Canyoning is a one day tour full of fun and adrenaline in the eastern slopes of <strong>Mount Olympus.</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Canyoning is a fun activity where we are following the natural flow of water and are passing all obstacles using technical means. The descent of a canyon is transformed into an entertaining activity-adventure, by rappelling on the waterfalls, diving and sliding in natural river pools.</p><p><br></p><p>Orlias canyon is a magical environment in the eastern slopes of <strong>Mount Olympus.</strong> In a green and spectacular area flow the crystal waters of the gorge and there are many slides and small pools for diving and swimming. At the beginning of the gorge, we come across consecutive waterfalls that pass you by rappel and then engage in an endless game with water. A really impressive gorge and fun.</p>

Rhodes: Sea kayaking tour for people with disabilities (private tour)

<p><strong>Sea kayaking tour for people with disabilities! </strong>Getting out in the sea gives people who depend on wheelchairs for mobility, newfound independence.</p><p><br></p><p>The sea kayaking tour in Rhodes is the most eco-way to discover the hidden treasures of the East Coast. It starts at Kathara beach in the south part of Faliraki bay.</p><p>Each participant with a disability will paddle in a double sea kayak with an experienced sea kayaking guide. A second guide will follow the route throughout the program.</p><p><br></p><p>After a small briefing by the experienced Trekking Hellas Guides, we will start paddling along the east coast, to the south. The route offers you the chance to discover two of the most popular bays of the island, Antony Quinn and Ladiko. While paddling, you can admire the rock formations and the crystal clear water of the Mediterranean. Then we will visit a sea cave known as the shelter of a seal called Katerina (by the locals) before finishing our excursion with local mezedes and a cold refreshment at the starting point next to the beach.</p><p><br></p><p>This activity is addressed to paddlers with one arm/leg, people with no leg mobility, people with limited trunk control, and their caregivers.</p><p><br></p><p>The secret about the paddle is the hinged mount, which supports the weight of the paddle, reducing joint stress and creating a smaller range of motion. Using a gentle rotary movement of the forearms (much like pedaling a bicycle with your hands), you’ll glide through the water with minimal effort.</p>

Sea kayak tour to Sivota islands and Blue Lagoon beach

<p>An activity in a unique area of natural beauty. Some call it the Caribbean of Greece. Characteristic of the region is the green that dominates the beaches and the crystal clear turquoise waters. Impressive for its color and clarity is the beach “Pisina -Pool”. The kayak route is circular between the islands that make up Sivota. Our first stop will be at the beach of“pisina-pool” for swimming and snorkelling and a refreshing snack. We continue our trip crossing Diaporos, the narrow part between two islands where we will make the second stop for a swim in its crystal waters and explore the Great Cave. We paddle southtowards the small island Mourtos, passing from “kamara” with another stop for swimming to Bella Vraka beach. Finally we’ll return back to the port of Sivota completing our beautiful excursion.</p>

We walk among ilex, pine and olive trees and admire views of the Aegean Sea, the coastline of Turkey and some of the nearby islands. Once at the top we learn about the history of this unusual Greek tourist attraction. We visit some former Italian buildings built by the Italian Colonists in 1929 and 1932. All were built in an Alpine style which is a novel sighting on a little Greek island. We visit the two hotels of the time “<strong>Elafos</strong>” and “<strong>Elafina</strong>” and the “<strong>Villa de Vecci</strong>”, house of the former Italian Governor of Rhodes. No visit would be complete without a visit to the <strong>Byzantine church of Profitis Elias</strong> from which the mountain gets its name.</p><p>After a short snack, we head back to <strong>Salakos</strong>, stopping on the way for the highlight of our <strong>hiking tour – the sunset! </strong>The colours of the sea, the trees and the sun calmly setting on the horizon all add to our once in a lifetime experience. Delphi - God Pans' Mythical Cave Hiking (The Corycian Cave)

<p><strong>An exploration of a mythological place, the Corycian Cave.</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We hike through a lush fir forest for about an hour to the Corycian Cave, also known as<strong>Pan’s Cave</strong>. Dedicated to the God Pan and the<strong>Corycian Nymphs</strong>, the cave is known not only for its beauty but also for its ancient myth, proclaiming that the cave was visited by divine spirits. It was formed by underground waters in ancient times. Scientific research showed that the cave was<strong>inhabited from the Neolihic era</strong>and the abundant finds date back from the Neolithic to the Classical period. The cave is <strong>connected to Delphi</strong> by an ancient footpath pilgrims use to follow in ancient times. We will follow an uphill forest road connecting<strong>Arachova</strong>altitude plateau central road to the cave.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>DISTANCE</strong>: 6 km hiking</p><p><strong>ASCEND</strong>: 300 m</p><p><br></p><p>This hike offers easy going moments in nature and is an opportunity to learn all about <strong>Greek mythology.</strong></p>
