Levanta Hotel Megalo Chorio

I have to say that my stay at Levanta Hotel in Megalo Chorio exceeded my expectations. The owner was very attentive, providing me with useful information about activities and attractions to visit based on the weather and time of day. The room was immaculate and boasted stunning mountain views. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable getaway - it's truly worth every moment. The hotel is conveniently located within driving distance of gorgeous mountain vistas, skiing resorts, and a monastery, and there are also incredible trekking opportunities within walking distance.

Levanta is a charming place to stay. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The AC is legit. The view from the balcony is absolutely stunning. The owner is an absolute gem, so helpful and kind, with a great sense of humor. They really put so much care into this place and it was a real treat to stay here.

If you want to spend your vacation in the nature, you should definitely stay at least one night in this hotel. It is one of the first buildings you encounter upon entering the Megalo Chorio village, one of the few villages along the Karpenisiotis river with points of interest to visit, and things to do throughout the day. It is almost 600 meters from the main square, where you will find coffee, food, sweets and also small shops with local products and souvenirs. In addition your host, Spyros, may help you find other ways to enjoy nature. From hiking (Megalo Chorio - Kaliakouda's peak mountain trail) and day trips (Panta Vrechi gorge) to mountain biking or even horse riding. There are also activities for children in the greater area (Saloon Park, The Newton Park), but also within a walking distance, since the Agios Athanasios tavern is only 100 meters away and it has a large playground and delicious food. For easier transportation it would be nice to have your own vehicle, but the roads are in good condition and no off-road adventures are needed in most cases. I use to visit Levanta mostly during August as solo, as a couple and also as a family and I have always enjoy my stay. I highly recommend it!

I'll write a review even if I didn't stay in the place after all. But I ought to praise the ethics and kindness of the owner! We had made a non-refundable booking to this place for 1 room (2 nights) via a well-known booking platform. Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip last minute due to an unpredicted injury (broken leg). I cancelled the booking via the platform, knowing I'm not entitled to any refund, and sent an informative email to the owner to let them know why we cancel last minute. The owner acknowledged our bad luck, and very kindly decided to refund our booking 100%, even though they had no obligation to do so, and I had no such expectation! This was a very polite gesture, and I'm very grateful for it. 5/5 on the ethics!
