Friendliness of staff variable but overall a clean and reliable hotel with great views and a large swimming pool set among olive trees. You get what you pay for so more mod cons and beachside facilities can be found down the hill on town but for quite a lot more money. The savings which I made from staying here have been blown on great dining at the many fine restaurants along the Harbour. I should maybe have saved the money to buy a super yacht to anchor alongside the others in the bay!

We had paid for Bed & Breakfast but at the outset I informed them of my food intolerances & that I did not eat meat & I was told it was my responsibility so had to buy my own gluten free bread, cereal & soya milk & all they gave me was a banana. After I complained to the Jet 2 rep then they withdrew the banana! One of the kitchen staff was also rude. At the outset we were told it was 49 euros for the week for aircon & there was even a charge for a kettle so we didn't bother. The bathroom floor was always like a paddling pool; the shower tray was small but the curtain was too short! The hotel is not suitable for people with mobility issues as it is on a hill & a poor path to the seafront. The only good point about this hotel is that the room was cleaned & towels changed daily except Sundays. We had to use our own pool towels. A TV had been removed from the room as there was a hole in the wall & TV connections remaining. I think as I had paid for breakfast they had a duty to supply it. I have never had this problem in any other hotel previously & people have always been helpful.

Situated on a hill. Not great if you have mobility issues. The staff are so nice and helpful ☺️ Good size outside pool, but freshwater and cold. Snack bar serving limited items. Steep steps to the upper-level rooms. But amazing views from the rooms. The bed wasn't to my liking, too soft for me.

The staff at this hotel are extremely hospitable and welcoming. My friend and I enjoyed our weeks stay at Hermes so much. The hotel does sit half way up a hill. I’m 17 weeks pregnant and it was just about manageable (we booked way before I knew I was pregnant). The stairs in the hotel, although tiresome were also manageable and I may have been slow getting up them, but they weren’t impossible. Don’t let it put you off! Dimitri behind the bar will also organise a car to some local restaurants. The room was clean, and had everything we needed including a small fridge and air con. We came with easyJet so this was included in the price, however when we got to the room we didn’t have the remote. It may be nice if aircon remotes could be put in rooms where it’s included to save the extra trip up/down the stairs to reception. Our room was cleaned wherever we put the sign on. This was usually done just after we headed for breakfast. The towels are on the small size, especially given my slightly growing belly - but we managed. We did have to hold the shower as it was so powerful it wouldn’t stay downwards and we would’ve flooded the bathroom. This didn’t bother us, as the power and warmth were very welcome. I actually think this may have been the most powerful shower I’ve had on holiday! Another slight inconvenience is the fact the toilet whistles everytime you or anyone in a nearby room flush it. We got used to it, but I won’t miss the noise first thing in the morning. We paid €35 for a late checkout which meant we could keep the room for the day as we didn’t fly till late. It was so worth it to allow us to shower after a day in the sun. Breakfast is continental style with lots of choice including boiled eggs, cheese, ham, fruit - usually watermelon, yogurt, cereal and bread. My friend particularly enjoyed the honey cake and apple pastries that would make Adhoc appearances. We also often ate lunch at the pool bar. Be warned not everything on the menu is available - it would be great if the menu could be updated to reflect this. There’s around 5 salads on there of which only one could be ordered, similar story with the Meze. The food we could order was cheap and well cooked. The gyros plate was plenty big enough for my friend and I and only cost us €5. The pool bar also sells drinks including bottled water for €1. The cherry and vanilla ice cream was also delicious!! They open at 11am. The pool itself was great and we spent most days there. There are no sunbed wars and plenty of umbrellas to ensure wherever you are round the pool you can get both sun and shade. There are toilets by the pool which is handy and they’re well maintained. We loved that you could take inflatables, the pool is plenty big enough for people to use them and not be a hindrance. There are ALOT of cats. Both around the hotel and the kefalos area, they often come over when you’re eating breakfast or at lunch. Ground floor room balconies often looked like mini cat cafes. Luckily we were on the second floor, but it’s worth noting incase you aren’t a feline fan. The walk to the closest beach took us around 10 minutes. The harbour is around 25 minutes. The closest supermarket and pharmacy are just under 10 minutes walk. Lots of people seemed to hire cars or quad bikes but we were happy on foot. There aren’t paths as such and the roads are quite bumpy but manageable if you do choose to walk. Overall a great stay for what we paid and we would come back for sure!

Lovely Stay at Hermes Hotel, Kefalos Just back from a great stay at Hermes Hotel in Kefalos. The staff were really nice—welcoming, helpful .The rooms are a bit dated, but absolutely spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay. The pool area is amazing—clean, spacious, and perfect for relaxing. The location is also brilliant. If you walk down the hill and past the little blue church on your right, you’ll find a supermarket called kefalos supermarket right on the beachfront. Best part? You can use their beach loungers for free as long as you’re buying food or drinks from the shop. Coffee, beers, cakes, etc. are all at supermarket prices—such a bonus! On your way back up, stop in at the Z Tours office to book excursions. The staff there are extremely helpful —friendly, fun, and full of local tips. Also, there’s a local bus stop right outside the hotel, so getting around the island and to kos town is super easy. All in all, a fantastic value stay with great people, a lovely pool, and perfect access to both beach and town. Would definitely recommend!
