The Athens Ivy Suites is an excellent hotel located within a prime section of the city. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is excellent in making you feel at home. At the top of that list is Eva. She greeted us upon arrival and checkout as well as made sure along with several others that we were properly looked after. However, Eva was extraordinary and beyond personable. She is a true asset to that team and a critical component for the guest relations side of the house. Kudos to her and the entire staff.

What a fantastic small hotel. Right in the centre of town a couple of minutes walk to Plaka. Huge room with an amazing shower and very comfortable bed. Great breakfast in a really cool little courtyard cafe. Would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Athens

This Hotel exceeded all of my expectations. Beautiful rooms, great location, and the staff was so incredibly kind/friendly. We ended up staying at another hotel on this trip that was substantially more expensive and it wasn't even close to as nice as this place! We received a 5 star experience from the staff from the moment we walked in to the moment we left, they even moved our bags into our room for us! I want to address the few negative reviews I read on this hotel as well since I can speak to them now having stayed there. Before coming, I read a few 1 star reviews that guests were annoyed about the room temperature. Coming from a very cold climate I can tell you that the people that live in Athens seem to like it very warm in the winter months, which makes sense. The rooms were very comfortable, we ended up sleeping with the window/door open which was perfect for us being more accustomed to a colder climate, but we were also able to adjust the thermostat lower easily. I feel like this was more of an issue with those guests not understanding how different populations live, not the room itself. Overall great experience, I highly recommend.

For the purpose of our city travel, this Hotel was the perfect match. The rooms were clean, well designed and functional. Everytime we asked something or had a question, help was incredibly fast and even hours later, a follow up was done. For example, we asked for advise as the 1st of May usually has many demonstrations. We got tips whereto go and where to avoid places and even a general information about strikes, services and more. The location itself is really amazing. Of course, since you are in the center of the city, you have to expect more noise outside. But they did a great job with good windows so most of the noise was kept outside. The only downside if anything... there was an information about saving water, etc. In short: if you hang your towels, they won't be washed/exchanged. If they are on the floor, they will be changed. We had our towels hanged but they still got changed. We wanted to contribute to the goal but couldn't do it. As a result, we would always go back to this hotel and can recommend it, if you have a similar purpose (city viewing).

I usually don’t write bad reviews, but never had anything like this. Spent 5 nights here. Came between seasons so its not too hot and not too cold. On our first night it was more hot then usual, and when we came to the room after a night out (around 1:30), the room temperature was 27 c which is super hot. I went to the reception to try and solve it, the guy was very nice and tried to help us, came to the room to chexk, even tried to get us a fan, all of this didn’t work so the solution was to sleep with the window open, on a first floor, in a super busy area. We barely slept. Constantly trying to cool ourselves with water. The thing is they write “air conditioning” in their site, but in practice there is a central heating system, so you have your remote in the room but it does nothing. The next day we’ve been out traveling, and came back in the evening and tried to talk again to the reception guy, this time there was a guy with white beard, probably aged 50-70 which flipped everything. He was super rude, explained to us again about the heating system and we said that we know, so he kept saying same stuff slowly trying to annoy us. Eventually saying that we paid good price and thats what we should get. Also saying that we should take our stuff and just leave the hotel (without refund). All felt really wrong, not how I expected a 4.9 hotel. Location was great, but nothing more.
