Palmyra Hotel Zakynthos

We are just back from a week at the Palmyra Hotel. Overall it’s a good hotel however it could be better by a bit of maintenance and the addition of some basics. Although there is a kettle and cups in the room, there is no tea or coffee sachets let alone milk and sugar. No bottle of water in the fridge on arrival - basic stuff. The shower in our room looked great but the big square shower head leaks everywhere and floods the bathroom without a towel at the entrance. The bathroom door is a pain too. The TV is the tiniest thing I’ve seen for years, no bigger than a laptop! A/C is expensive and the safety deposit box is also extra. The bed however is huge and comfortable. The room service and reception staff are great and the cleaning is exceptional. Breakfast was good quality but the same every day so quite boring. George in the pool bar is a great guy and his cocktails are absolutely perfect. Best we had on the island!

Review of Hotel Palmyra in Argassi, Zakynthos We, a couple from Belgium in our 50s, stayed at Hotel Palmyra for 10 days in June. The weather was already warm but comfortable, and the sea water was absolutely fantastic—perfect for swimming and relaxing. The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained. A big highlight of our stay was the wonderful reception staff, with a special mention to Matina, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with any questions or needs. Her warmth and professionalism truly made our stay memorable. The rooms were basic, and while we only needed space for two, there was an additional third bed, which felt unnecessary. It was a slight inconvenience to pay extra for air conditioning, which would have been appreciated as a standard inclusion. Another minor drawback was not being able to charge pool bar purchases to our room. The hotel’s location is excellent—peaceful yet very strategic for exploring the island. We rented a 300cc scooter from Olympic just around the corner, which made it easy to visit different parts of Zakynthos. There are also plenty of restaurants, shops, and the sea within walking distance, adding to the convenience. Overall, Hotel Palmyra offers a pleasant and relaxing stay with top-notch service from the reception. It’s a great base to discover the beauty of Zakynthos, and we would gladly return! 🌴

I had a fantastic experience with the customer service, especially from Alexandra (such a beautiful amazing preson 💕) and the friendly gentleman on the night shift who went above and beyond to help us in a medical emergency. 💕 This is easily the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in, and everything was just a button-push away.. rooms were spotless on daily basis & done up perfectly ♥️ It's a very family-friendly place where we had the chance to meet people from Australia, Greece, the Netherlands, and England. The town itself is lively, with something for everyone, and there's no rowdy youth around. Above all you'll be safe 100%. The breakfast bar was absolutely amazing—always super fresh and well-stocked. I felt safe throughout the entire island and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. All shops & supermarkets literally outside the hotel including bus stops to all the best beaches (banana beach. S Nicholas.... and more. Above all, a bar/restaurant on the pool area serving drinks & snacks.. Thank you 😊

Things to be aware of AIRCON- Not included €10 a day. Luckily enough I booked with booking.com and checked that air con was included in the price, however 20 odd people who were also part of this party ended up have to pay €70-€140 on top of their stay. POOL - First time I've ever experienced it during holidays, but has turned a lot of my T shirts and swimming trunks I used done by the pool green. This again affected a few other people's belongings- advice don't bring any thing new/ or white down by the pool use black swimming trunks as everything else seems to stain Yellow/green. Review the prices of food and drinks at the pool, cocktail at the pool €11, where as place like beer academy (2 mins walk from the hotel) €6. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very nice and clean. The domestic/cleaning staff were excellent. The inclusive breakfast was nice each morning and it changed alternate days. Despite the above negatives I would stay here again. I would bring old swimming trunks and pool clothes I don't mind getting stained and ensure I have booked the aircon again as it can be a big cost on top of the holiday already.
