ALEGRIA Mykonos

We stayed here in May 2025 and had our wedding here. The villa is just as pictured. Our wedding was beautiful in photos. Most of the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, we would never recommend staying here or hosting your event here. The amenities were not as advertised and we had many issues during and after our stay that are still unresolved as of writing this review. When we arrived, some accommodations on site had no water or no hot water. The lack of hot water was an ongoing problem throughout some of our guests’ stays. The furniture and villa itself had clearly seen a lot of use. But the included breakfast is good. The pool takes three days to heat, apparently. We were told if we wanted this feature, we had to let them know prior to our stay, but were never contacted prior to or asked if we would like this feature. Mykonos is not that warm in mid-May and it would seem to be common sense to most other villas that guests would like the pools heated. They did eventually turn the heating to the hot tubs on, but they did not get very warm. The sauna also did not function during our stay. This brings me to the air conditioning issue. There is an engineer on site and the house is fully staffed, this is not an Airbnb where you are left to your own devices. The air conditioning did not work in the main house and was not cooling the rooms. We stayed in a room in the main house and can confirm this. We were only told they were looking into it and we just opened the windows and dealt with it. Having to sleep with the windows open resulted in giant, painful, itchy mosquito bites on many guests in the main house. We even had one couple ask to move to a room in a guest house where it would be cooler. We did a walk through with the house manager and assistant manager after our stay concluded and were told everything looked good. It then took us around 45 days to receive any of our deposit back, in direct breach of the contract they provided and signed, and we were informed they would be keeping almost €3,000 to fix the air conditioning because “a guest requested heating to their room which caused significant issue to the system.” We were never told why it was possible for a guest to request heat if it would cause such damage, why we were not told anything about this during or at the end of our stay, or why it took so long to tell us anything about our deposit. So while you will have nice pictures of the view, there are other villas with similar or better views where you may have functioning amenities, water, and HVAC, and you will not have to endure the headache of figuring out your deposit afterward. We feel scammed out of a significant portion of our deposit through no fault of our own and hope to save other people from this same issue.
