Idean Routes 2024

The Idean Routes running races return to Crete in 2024 in various locations, aiming to promote the mountainous landscape of the island.  
 

Confirmed races include: 
 

Cretan Backyard Ultra | 20-21/01/2024 @09:00

The Backyard Ultra format race requires competitors to run a 6.7 km circular route in one hour, every hour until only one participant is left in the race. There are three reasons why a person may be disqualified: (a) failing to complete the course in one hour, (b) not being at the starting line a few minutes before the start of the next lap, and (c) withdrawing from the race.

Kronion Trail Race | 14/05/2024 @10:30

A mountain running race of moderate difficulty and without much elevation gain. It caters to experienced and less experienced runners who want to test their strengths. The route has constant changes of scenery and views in all directions of the Lassithi Plateau.

Three routes of 12km, 5km and 1,500m through the nature of the Cretan peninsula, inviting runners to test their strengths, while highlighting the benefits of mountain running races in one of Crete’s small villages.
