Α CONCEPT IS BORN

2014: 10 bloggers are invited to Athens: What’s the Story? workshop and a 3-day itinerary showcasing ‘An Ancient City with a Modern Soul’. The #blogtrottersGR hashtag is launched, emphasising storytelling and concept-driven engagement.

THE INITIATIVE IS ESTABLISHED

2015: 45 bloggers from 13 countries are taken on a conceptual journey through Thessaloniki and Halkidiki. Through a workshop and tailored itinerary, more than 11 million social media impressions are produced in 4 days.

GREAT IMPRESSIONS

2016: Blogtrotters goes nationwide, year-round, as 57 bloggers visit more than 50 destinations around Greece. With social media impressions topping 145 million and 80 blog posts and 19 vlogs produced, Blogtrotters 2016 wins gold at the Ermis Awards for Digital PR and at the Tourism Awards for Storytelling Excellence

A LASTING IMPACT

2017: This is the year in which the initiative matures and shows its greatest ambition yet. It is the year in which Blogtrotters leaves a legacy, having adopted the United Nation’s Year of Sustainability for Tourism Development and exploring the theme of traveling in balance.
