The Ballet of the Greek National Opera presents a new dance performance dedicated to the life of Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
Appearing from 14 to 23 February 2025 on the main stage of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center and choreographed by Barcelona-born Cayetano Soto, Tchaikovsky is a performance that illuminates the inner conflict of the great composer, who brought us The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and other timeless works.
Tchaikovsky seems to have been torn between the societal conventions of 19th-century Russian society and his personal desires.
The performance is accompanied by famous Tchaikovsky works, such as the "Passive Symphony" and the "Serenade for Strings", giving the audience an insight into his challenges, his courage and his exceptional genius.
